Hosting the Conference on Doping Code and Regulations on December 16, 2023

On December 16th, the Greek Community of Beirut hosted a conference which was organized by the Lebanese Athletics Federation at its premises, as a part of the athletics development plan in Lebanon.

The “Doping Code and Regulations” seminar served as an awareness to educate athletes about its dangers.

The General Secretary of the Federation, Mr. Wassim El-Hawli, opened the seminar with a welcoming speech. He considered that these seminars are necessary to maintain clean athletics free of doping, and this is in line with the strategy of World Athletics (WA) and the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU), followed by a speech by the Head of the Federation’s Medical Committee, Mr. Ayman Shami. He spoke about the committee’s plan to combat doping and work within international standards.

The conference was run by Dr. Jihad Haddad, an International Doping Control Expert in the presence of all members of the federation, representatives of clubs, athletes, and university students.

Dr. Haddad shared the new laws and amendments recently issued to combat doping, limit its spread among athletes, and educate them to reach a healthy sports community free of this bad and dangerous scourge.

Participants engaged vividly in the discussion.
